Personal Essay for class

As I sit here on my couch at two am, because I cannot sleep. Hearing the cars go by my house, I am thinking of what to write for my first English paper. We where ask to write a personal essay that people can relate to and understand something about our self as an individual. The assignment had me stuck. While I sit here on my couch, as time goes by I ask myself, “What do I want out of life? What are my goals that I have for myself? What would be better then writing about my goals in life? That will tell the readers something about me as an individual and also something that the reader could relate to.”
My first goal is to get my masters degree in computer science and business. In order to do this I need to finish getting my associates degree in computer networking with a grade point average of at least 3.0. I have been having a hard time with my English class because of my grammar. English has always been a hard subject for me. I have never been a person that likes to write. Then I would go on to get my bachelor degree in networking engineering. I hope that keeping my grade point average at 3.0 or better so I can get into the masters program of my choose.
My second goal is to get a reliable and stable job. Right now I am working part time at the school as a work-study in the ITS department. I would like to get a job that lets me traveling to different states and countries so I can see the world while I'm working. Who said that we always have to work? I want to be employed with a company that helps everyone not just the wealthy people. If I have to start a company of my own to do that then I will. So finishing my first goal would help me achieve my second goal. I know that it is not going to be easy and that I will have to work hard.
My third and last goal is to have a family. I would like to get married to my partner. We have been together for the last three and a half years. After couple of years of being married and getting out of school, I would like to buy a house with my partner. I always wanted a house of my own with a back yard and a dog. So making sure that the house has a back yard so that the dog has somewhere to run when we let it out. To finalize my goal of having a family, I would like to adopt a child. When I was a kid, my family gave me to the state because they did not want me. So since, I was a kid I always wanted a child so I can give them the love and care that I never had. I have felt alone all though my childhood so by having a family that loves me I will never feel alone again.
Getting my masters in computer science and business will help me achieve my second goal, which is to get a reliable and stable job. By getting, a reliable and stable job will help me to accomplish making a family for myself. These goals will be hard to accomplish because I always sabotage myself with anything that I want or that is good for me.

My second sentence of the week

I was reading The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch with Jeffrey Zaslow and I read this sentence, "It's over, I said to Jai. My goose is cooked." he was not talking about a real goose but he was talking about his cancer that he had. I thought that he did a good job with the word goose in that sentence.
